YOUR DAILY MOMENT: Inspirational thoughts to begin your day
January 7, 2018

Yesterday marked what is always the saddest day of the year for me. The Christmas season (which I love) is over and the day my daughter leaves after her visit home for Christmas is the saddest day. She left yesterday and my sadness is palpable. I know I will not see her for months; maybe not until next Christmas.

As I was having my pity party, I thought about our service men and women who leave home for long deployments, not knowing when or if they will return.  I cannot imagine the despondency their loved ones must feel.  I think of millions who live in such poverty they know not from where their next meal will come. I think of the atrocities taking place all over the world and the horror millions of people deal with every day. I  think of children left homeless by the ravages of war. We live in a very fallen world.  If all I have to be sad about is saying goodbye to a daughter I may not see for months but will text and email multiple times a day and talk with several times a week then, I think I will shut down this pity party, get on my knees, thank God for my countless blessings, and pray for those with real problems.

  1. I know how you feel Karenwe all have our pity party’s. It’s never easy saying goodbye to our children, but we do we have the hope of seeing them again. Thinking of God and how hard it was for him when he gave his son for this sin sick world… oh what love!!!! we also have the hope of seeing Christ some day!

    1. Norma, thanks for your comment. It is always heartening to know someone is reading and paying attention. I also thought about how hard it was for God to give up Jesus. Thanks for following the blog. I just signed in to write tomorrow’s blog.
